Travel time cut by 60% as RTA expands exit on E311

Travel time cut

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has successfully completed a significant traffic enhancement project on the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311). The project focused on expanding the exit leading to Al Rebat Street, resulting in a substantial 50% increase in the exit’s vehicle capacity. This improvement allows the exit to accommodate 4,500 vehicles per hour, up from its previous capacity of 3,000 vehicles.
This strategic expansion has had a direct and positive impact on travel time between the two areas, reducing it by an impressive 60%. Commuters can now expect a significantly faster and smoother journey, with travel time slashed from 10 minutes to a mere 4 minutes.

In addition to the exit expansion, the project also included the addition of a new lane, bringing the total number of lanes to three. This comprehensive upgrade is part of RTA’s ongoing commitment to improving traffic flow and infrastructure across Dubai.

By investing in these strategic improvements, RTA aims to support the city’s rapid growth and development while ensuring efficient and convenient transportation options for residents and visitors alike. These efforts reflect RTA’s dedication to creating a world-class transportation network that meets the evolving needs of Dubai’s dynamic urban landscape.
